There was loads of promise in that debut bumper win from SHOOT THE BLUES at Limerick over a year ago. I know he was beaten on hurdles debut last month but he was back from a 461 day absence and just bumped into another nice type from the Willie Mullins yard. They pulled miles clear from the rest and the third Undeniable Alibi has already boosted the form. Even the seventh Stagecoach Mary has come out and won at Thurles so it is already stacking up. He should be a lot sharper this time around and I’m confident he can justify favouritism. Tounsivator makes his debut for Willie Mullins but he’ll need to be pretty smart to win first time out.

I’m keen to chance FIRE DANCER at Hereford for Venetia Williams. This horse undoubtedly needs to jump better but I certainly wouldn’t judge him too harshly on that run at Ascot on good ground. He will be much happier here with the ground testing and given this is his second start following a wind op and he has been dropped another 2lb I think we’ll see a decent run. He is still unexposed so could still come good and this looks a winnable opportunity. Abingworth looks a false favourite to me and I think he’ll take a drift in the betting. He was only denied a short head at Ludlow but his only run in heavy ground resulted in a heavy defeat. Chance A Tune might be a bigger threat.
