However, Simon Earle's gelding has yet to convince with his stamina over this far. An improved bid from handicap debutant Chauffeur Driven is also a distinct possibility.

Valirann Gold bolted up over an extended 2m3f at Fontwell last month and, though he merits respect, a 6lb hike in the ratings, along with a step up in trip, will ask more of him. With that in mind, the vote goes to FORTUNEFAVORSDBOLD, who remains competitively treated on revised terms having been able to exploit a reduced mark at Huntingdon last month. Haut Folin continues to run well and is unlikely to be far away.

Although that effort came on good ground, the Cloth Of Stars gelding is unlikely to be inconvenienced by forecast conditions and he is taken to go one better with improvement forthcoming. Point winner Martin Plage has shown more than enough across his two starts in bumpers to suggest he will be involved, while Worldwide Fury needs monitoring in the betting ahead of his Rules debut.
