ISOCRATE showed a likeable attitude when just failing to get up over 2m at Sandown last month and, easing slightly in grade, this looks to be a good opportunity for Jonjo O'Neill's charge to open his account. Useful Flat performer Motazzen is a fascinating contender on his first start over hurdles for Henrietta Knight and he warrants respect, while Nachtgeist remains unexposed after just three starts over hurdles and the son of Highland Reel holds solid claims of earning himself a spot on the podium.

An 8lb rise in the ratings for Gary Moore's gelding may not be enough to prevent him from following up. The combination of a 7lb penalty and more of an emphasis on speed could prove his undoing, with perhaps a bigger threat emerging from fellow last-time-out scorer Nick The Greek.
