This looks to be between Tomy Cody and HASTON CLERMONT (best priced at 10/11) who were both beaten in photo finishes last time with preference going to the latter who has had his form boosted. The Noel Williams trained seven-year-old had won his previous two stats at Lingfield and Wincanton before finishing 2nd by a nose at Chepstow 106 ago.

The form of that run has been boosted by the winner Twilight Glory winning off a 6lb higher mark next time (now rated 13lbs higher) and the third Stellar Stream, who was a further four lengths behind, winning off the same mark next time (now rated 4lbs higher. Haston Clermont runs here off an 8lb higher mark which is fair and he should get back to winning ways.

All four runners come into this race having won last time out but preference goes to BURROWS HALL (best priced at 6/5) who runs here from 2lbs “well in” at the weights under a 7lb penalty. The Sue Smith trained seven-year-old is the least exposed of the four runners and has run well on all four of his starts this season.

He placed on his first three starts of the season at Carlisle, Doncaster and here over 2m3½f before winning easily by 4 ¼ lengths on his first attempt over further than 3 miles.
The handicapper has raised Burrows Hall 9lbs for that comfortable course and distance success last time but he instead runs here under a 7lb penalty meaning that he is 2lbs “well in” at the weights and he should prove hard to beat.
