GYTO Monday Notebook Double

I’m surprised MILLDAM isn’t shorter than 7/2 for this as he has been on a real roll recently winning 2 of his last 3 starts. He is a strong stayer at this trip and showed a good attitude off the bridle to get back up at Catterick last month. He has only gone up 3lb and I can still see him improving again. He can definitely jump slicker and it will be interesting to see if they go off the front with him as there isn’t any obvious pace on here. If he gets dictating and in a nice rhythm I’m struggling to see anything go past. Schmilsson bolted up when well backed at Sedgefield and backed that up with a good run at Ludlow so looks the biggest danger.

Another race where I thought my selection would be shorter so more than happy to take the 2/1 available on COLOURS ON CANVAS with Sean Bowen in the saddle. This 5yo hacked up by 12 lengths over C&D last month making all the running under Sam Twiston-Davies. His previous second over 2 miles to Junkanoo is also decent form and up another 5lb here he remains unexposed so could easily still step forward and follow up especially with the jockey change. Nordic Tiger is on a hat-trick but has been hiked up 10lb and did only prevail by a neck at Huntingdon so needs more albeit is still the danger. Individualiste also has a squeak.
