UK Horse Racing Tips: Wexford

GARDE LA PECHE looks worth another chance here despite a disappointing start for connections at Limerick over Christmas. The Kapgarde mare was a solid enough second favourite that day, behind short-priced winner Judicieuse Allen, but weakened tamely in the closing stages. She had been a commanding winner of a point-to-point on debut and the runner-up that day has won twice in England this year. Drum Roll showed some promise when seventh in a Navan maiden hurdle on her first start for Paul Nolan just over two weeks ago and could improve from that. Hollow Rodger won a point-to-point and hasn't run too badly in a couple of outings over timber since. She could get a lot closer now.

BRENNUS LESCRIBAA ran below par when last seen at Naas in mid-December but his previous form suggests he's good enough to win a race of this standard. The Doctor Dino gelding went to post an odds-on shot in a similar contest at Naas but stopped quickly in the lead after the second last. That suggests there was some kind of issue. He had previously been a good fourth to Predators Gold in a stronger maiden hurdle at Punchestown and that run would be good enough to win today. Fortuna Favente looks to be improving with racing and it was a promising effort to finish fourth on her return at Navan just over two weeks ago. She could be the danger. Malton Groove was staying on when fourth in another of these races at Thurles last time and dropping back in trip doesn't look ideal.

KILBARRY SAINT looks like an improving mare and may be able to follow up on her win at Clonmel last month. The Saint des Saints mare bumped into a well handicapped rival in Champagne Mahler at Gowran in January before opening her account in good style last time. A 10lb raise makes life more difficult but she looked good value for that last time. Zeeband is the other last time out winner in the field and could be the danger. Paul Gilligan's charge kept on gamely to hold Master Otis at Leopardstown last time and received a 5lb raise for that narrow success. Liberated Light has run a couple of decent races, both over timber and on the Flat, this year and the full-brother to Cheltenham Festival bumper winner A Dream To Share is one to note on his handicap debut.

There is going to be plenty of pace in this with front-runners Effernock Fizz and Doyen Ta Win in the line-up. ONE LAST TANGO should have no problem travelling on a strong pace and is a previous course winner. The Ocovango gelding was an impressive winner of a competitive event at Leopardstown over Christmas but put himself on he back-foot with a blunder early on at the Dublin track early last month. He is a smart horse and this looks a nice opportunity for him. Doyen Ta Win took this last year and is sure to make a bold bid again but she is now 15lb higher and has been well beaten on recent runs. Bythesametoken chased home Doyen Ta Win last year and could be each-way value off a low weight.

A small turnout here and KLARC KENT looks set to be a very short price for Willie Mullins. The Spanish Moon gelding has been placed in his two completed starts over fences and it was a solid effort to finish third to the 142-rated Senior Chief at Punchestown last month. That form looks a long way above what his rivals have achieved. Jasmin De Cotte looks the best bet to chase him home. The French-bred gelding was third in a maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse in January, albeit beaten a long way behind Mirazur West. Starlight Cato has handicap experience and could complete the trifecta.

FULL NOISE was well backed on his first start for Katy Brown and ran really well to chase home the in-form mare Aodhan May in a handicap hurdle at Navan last month. The Carlotamix gelding runs off a 9lb lower mark back over fences now and this looks like a winnable opportunity. Beau's Candle had been in fine form in point-to-points before a decent run to chase home easy winner Balum at Punchestown last month. He looks like another obvious contender. Lilian Bland hasn't been far away over fences and hurdles this winter and looks each-way material.

It's hard to look past the Willie Mullins runners in bumpers and JACKSON WOOD may be able to make a winning start here. The Al Namix gelding cost 95,000-euros as a store a couple of years ago and the fact that Patrick Mullins comes down to ride him is a plus. Donnie Devito is the form choice after a couple of good placed efforts, most recently when third to Staffordshire Knot at Fairyhouse on New Year's Day. Another newcomer to note is the Barry Connell-trained Net Boy. The Robin Du Nord gelding cost 60,000-euros as a store and is half-brother to Netywell, who has won five times in England.
