GYTO Monday Notebook Double

This is a pretty poor race so I think it is a good chance for MY FRIEND SEAN to get off the mark. He took a big step forward to finish third on handicap debut at Doncaster last month and that is decent form. The winner Libor Lad failed to give his running at Newcastle next time but the runner-up Pilgrims King won at Doncaster so it has been franked. He is racing off the same mark here and with further improvement to come as he gains experience he should have a great chance. I know Highway One O Four pulled up last time but he is another one to keep an eye on.

I’m surprised GINGERBRED is as big as 10/3 for this as his win at Ffos Las in testing ground was fairly impressive last month and he didn’t do much wrong finishing second at Wincanton last time. The winner No Hubs No Hoobs is a decent yardstick and Regal Blue who actually pulled up in that race has come out and won since so the form certainly has substance. He is still unexposed over fences at this trip and should take a bit of beating. Born At Midnight is on a hat-trick and is feared but his form has taken a few knocks and this is tougher. Bampton Star is another one in good form and is respected too.
