I can see NAB WOOD going off a fair bit shorter than the 11/4 currently on offer given how impressive he has been the last twice. He slammed a good yardstick in Choose A Copper to win by 12 lengths at Kelso on penultimate start. He improved again on handicap debut to win in the style of a nice prospect at the same venue last month and a further 8lb rise shouldn’t be enough to anchor him. He travels so strongly into his races so the drop back in trip slightly won’t hinder him and there is lots to like. Joker De Mai has bumped into a couple of decent yardsticks the last twice and will be the danger if in the same form here.

The hat-trick could easily be on the cards for the unexposed HARA KIRI here. He caught the eye running a nice race when third behind Billytherealbigred at Leicester back in January which is form that has worked out and has improved to win twice since albeit narrowly on both occasions. He showed a good attitude to hold on at Market Rasen with the front pair 13 lengths clear of the third and then defied an 8lb rise to overcome a bad mistake at the final flight at Ludlow last month. He is only 3lb higher here and if jumping slicker could easily go in again. Toonagh Warrior still has potential off this mark and looks the obvious threat.
