This represents a good opportunity for ROYAL DEESIDE to open his account. He is unexposed in handicaps over hurdles and if building on that second over C&D last time should have a big chance. He wouldn’t want the ground to be too testing but with the opposition thin on the ground he might get away with it anyway. Balhambar was well backed at Huntingdon but I was told Harry Derham didn’t think a great deal of him and it looks like he is too short again here as well. I actually see Passing Kate as a bigger danger having won at Wincanton and then finished below par in third at Hereford last time. She could easily bounce back.

Back down the weights TROJAN TRUTH made no mistake winning readily over C&D last month. That visual impression was backed up by the clock too and despite a 3lb rise he should have a great chance to go in again under 7lb claimer Liam Wright. Calcutta Dream bumped into Lough Leane and then Optik at Chelmsford last time and looks the obvious danger on those runs. Pink Jazz is dropping back down the weights and is down another 2lb after finishing fifth here so might have a chance as this longer trip will suit but enough to prove in the main and the favourite should be hard to beat if repeating that last win again.
