Half A Chance showed promise on debut in a Limerick bumper while any market move for Storms End or Shanroe Nelson would be interesting.

BARRIER has been placed a couple of times over hurdles this year and appears to have found a good opportunity to open his account. The Gordon Elliott-trained filly finished well when runner-up to better-fancied stablemate Ndaawi at Naas and the winner went on to finish third in the Boodles Handicap Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. Milanaway has been generally consistent both in bumpers and maiden hurdles including when third to Mollys Glory at Thurles and now takes a drop in class following her fourth to Spindleberry over this trip at Fairyhouse. Shana Cloon has plenty of handicap experience and can't be lightly discounted while Whatsupnellie and Slip Jig have both been placed in bumpers.

JERIKO DE BAUNE is a solid staying handicapper who has scored twice this season including at this venue. The Philip Fenton-trained gelding showed great reserves of stamina when beating Duffys Getaway over this trip at Fairyhouse and a reproduction of her close third to Sir Bob and the progressive Aodhan May at Cork last month may be good enough. Sarah Beara was a C&D winner last summer and has gained black type a number of times since including when third to Bioluminescence at Limerick last time. Pipers Boreen came out best in a tight finish over a similar distance at Punchestown, while Lep Around makes a quick reappearance after a maiden win at Cork last Sunday.

MONBEG PARK won twice over hurdles at Punchestown including a verdict over Spillane's Tower and the point-to-point winner has come up against some smart types since sent over fences. He found Grade 3 company too hot last time, but this could be more to his liking. Spirit Of Legend has a similar profile to the selection winning a Navan maiden hurdle and quite highly tried over fences this term. Midnight Our Fred certainly won't lack for stamina having won a three-mile handicap hurdle here last year and filled second on his latest two chase starts at Cheltenham, while Casey West handled testing ground when winning a hunter chase at Clonmel last time. Dundaniel was still in contention when brought down two out at Limerick last time.

R'EVELYN PLEASURE has proved a grand servant to connections winning seven times including this event in 2022 and has been placed on numerous occasions. The Sean O'Brien-trained gelding returned in good heart this season winning twice including another veterans' race at Limerick and again put in a solid effort when second to Sunnyvilla at Cork on Monday. Shadow Rider won a beginners chase for Willie Mullins before losing his way over fences and has been switched to hurdles by Padraig Roche this season scoring in runaway fashion at Fairyhouse before running well off a 10lb higher mark in a valuable handicap at Cork last Sunday. It will be interesting to see how he fares back chasing, while Epson Du Houx takes a big drop in class after taking on Ferny Hollow at Naas last time.

Starlight Cato had Fox Le Bel six lengths back in third with TANGENTAL fourth when runner-up to St Denis's Well (won twice since) over three miles at Navan in January. The former has disappointed since at Limerick behind He Fitz In (up 7lb as a result) and the frustrating Fox Le Bel is still a maiden after 29 starts so Colm Murphy's charge now gets the vote to come out on top. The son of Fame And Glory has won twice over hurdles including a three-mile Clonmel handicap on soft ground last spring and the aforementioned Navan race was just his second start over fences. Mick Charlie won over both hurdles and fences earlier this year but needs to bounce back after a disappointing effort at Thurles.
