The step up to a mile and a quarter should be the making of CHANTILLY and I’m expecting him to be really hard to beat here. He didn’t do a lot wrong in 4 starts as a 2yo and there is good reason to expect plenty of improvement now. That form behind The Euphrates at Goodwood has been well advertised since and he should be the one to beat over this extra yardage. Surfers Paradise can likely do better but he wouldn’t want the ground too testing so that would be a slight concern. Tamrat still has potential despite bombing out at Listowel. This race could be worth keeping a close eye on as likely one or two nice types.

I expected IMPERIAL SAINT to go a bit closer at Newbury last time but that was still a decent effort. He is stepped up slightly in trip here which should help and off the same mark in a smaller field he could easily return to winning ways. He still has quite a bit of potential this horse so they’ll be hoping to cap off the season with a win before potentially going chasing next year. Donnacha is a decent yardstick so looks the danger after chasing home the progressive Spirits Bay at Exeter. King Of The Lake doesn’t know how to run a bad race and is another one in there with a chance as he is still lightly raced as well.
