The Nick Alexander trained TRAVAIL D’ORFEVRE (best priced at 5/1) finished 2nd behind the favourite Netywell at Ayr on his penultimate start but now gets a 14lb swing in the weights. The eight-year-old made a winning reappearance over this course and distance off a mark of 102 before finishing 2nd on his next four starts off this mark of 105. He was in receipt of 12lbs from Netywell when beaten six lengths at Ayr in February but with that rival winning his next start easily he is now in receipt of 26lbs from him.
Travail D’Orfevre has no question marks about the heavy ground, the course and distance or his recent form so he looks a confident each way selection with up to four places available.

William Of York has won his previous two starts since the application of cheekpieces including when beating HELLO JUDGE (best priced at 11/2) last time but the selection now comes here following an impressive victory at Newcastle. The Ann Hamilton trained eight-year-old is 2/2 on heavy ground in his career including when winning over this course and distance in February off a mark of 100. He finished only a head behind William Of York on his next start here on soft ground before defying a 2lb rise to win at Newcastle on heavy ground by 12 lengths.
Hello Judge has shown improved form recently on heavy ground and he looks sure to run well with up to four places available.

Aidan O’Brien has won the Ballysax Stakes a record eleven times and he looks to hold strong claims with the trio Illinois, The Euphrates and OCEAN OF DREAMS (best priced at 5/2). The three-year-old is the least exposed of the five-runner field with only one start as a juvenile but that was an impressive six length victory at this course on heavy ground.
Ocean Of Dreams won over a mile here in October despite running green under pressure but he shaped as if this step up in trip to 1m2f would suit him well this season. It is no surprise to see Ryan Moore remain loyal to Illinois who he rode in a Group 1 in France so the selection is a bigger price with Wayne Lordan on board.
