The unexposed Long Draw is respected on his handicap debut off top weight but a repeat performance from DEXPERADO (best priced at 9/2) should see him prove hard to beat. The Nick Kent trained five-year-old finished down the field in three maiden/novice hurdles over 2 miles but improved for a step up in trip on his handicap debut over this course and distance last time.
Dexperado was only beaten ½ length on heavy ground off a mark of 86 and he looks sure to run well with four places on offer despite running off a 4lb higher mark.

15:52 Lingfield

This looks a competitive 0-78 handicap but preference goes to COUNSEL (best priced at 4/1) who has run well on both of his starts for Mick Appleby. The six-year-old won by 2 ¾ lengths on his stable debut over this course and distance in January off a mark of 67 before finishing 2nd off a 5lb higher mark at Southwell later that month.
Counsel was only beaten 1 ¾ lengths that day off a mark of 72 that day and despite running her off a 2lb higher mark, this return to Lingfield where he is 2/2 should suit him well.

Silver Trumpet looks a worthy favourite in his bid for a hat-trick but a chance is taken on BERKSHIRE NUGGET (best priced at 9/2) on his handicap debut. The Andrew Balding stable have started this season in good form and this three-year-old looks the type to prove better than an opening mark of 73.
Berkshire Nugget ran well to finish 4th in all three of his starts last season on turf racing keenly at Newmarket and Chester. He has been gelded over the winter and now returns from 193 days off the track in a first time hood which should make the job of Oisin Murphy a lot easier.
