Steve Ryder is back with three tips from Monday's horse racing action.
15:20 Windsor
HARPER’S FERRY (best priced at 4/5) not only has the benefit of race fitness over both Dambuster and Poniros but he also is receipt of 7lbs from his main two market rivals. The Ed Walker trained three-year-old outran odds of 50/1 to finish 2nd on his debut at Newmarket by a nose on soft ground before finishing 2nd by ¾ length at Doncaster on his reappearance.
Saffie Osbourne now takes over on board Harper’s Ferry in this race and it will be disappointing if he didn’t get off the mark at the third attempt in this race.
16:00 Kelso
This looks a competitive Class 2 handicap hurdle but preference goes to ELOI DU PUY (best priced at 7/1) who has a good record this course and distance. The Nick Alexander trained six-year-old has form figures of 31121 in handicap hurdles at this course including victories off marks of 94, 97 and 109.
Eloi Du Puy won by a short head over this course and distance a month ago off a mark of 109 with the pair pulling three lengths clear of the favourite Harper Valley that day. That rival gets a 4lb swing in the weights here but with up to six places available on this race, Eloi Du Puy looks sure to be involved in the finish.
16:30 Kelso
The favourite Celestial Fashion runs here from 3lbs out of the handicap upped in class in this race so preference goes to the top weight ATLANTIC DANCER (best priced at 4/1). The Nick Alexander trained eleven-year-old is a lot more exposed than his rivals in this race but does boast good course and distance form. The veteran has won his latest two starts over this course and distance including victories in 2023 off marks of 100 and 102.
Atlantic Dancer ran well to finish 3rd at Ayr last time off a mark of 110 and he should run well off the same mark back at this Ayr.
