The step up to this trip on handicap debut did the trick for CATCH HIM DERRY at Southwell back in January and while he was beat at Bangor next time out that form looks really strong now. The winner and stablemate Gwennie May Boy has since won twice and was notably impressive at Aintree last time. He is 5lb higher but is likely still well handicapped as a stayer and looks the one to beat. Whistle Stop Tour kept rolling to win over 2 and a half miles at this track last month and looks the obvious danger back in handicap company. Mt Fugi Park is another one who could still have more to offer.

The money was down on FLICKA’S GIRL at Wolverhampton on debut and she made no mistake pinging the lids and making all impressively. I know the owner is really keen to send her to the Lily Agnes at Chester so they’ll be wanting to win this and go there with a perfect record. She showed plenty of gears the last day and looks a filly with plenty of class. She caries a penalty here but this track will suit and she is hard to get away from. Spirited Dancer was denied just a neck on debut at Kempton and that was a promising start so she looks the one most likely to give her something to think about.
