Better will have been expected from the JP McManus owned and Nicky Henderson trained AVADA KEDAVRA (best priced at 5/2) but as a result he now makes his handicap debut off an opening mark of 101. The five-year-old was sent off joint favourite on his hurdling debut at Plumpton when finishing 3rd behind the now 134 rated Emailandy and 127 rated Goodwin before disappointing at both Taunton and Warwick on his next two starts.

Avada Kedavra now returns from 99 days off the track having had a wind operation at the start of February and he can win this on his handicap at the expense of Largy Force who has finished 2nd on his previous three starts.

Avada Kedavra - 1pt @ 5/2

The Ado McGuiness trained LAUGH A MINUTE (best priced at 9/2) is a three-time course and distance winner at the Curragh with a further four placed efforts who was unlucky not to win here last time. The nine-year-old has no concerns about this heavy ground and runs here off the same mark of 95 that he was 3rd here last time.

This looks a weaker contest than the race Laugh A Minute ran in last time and he looks sure to be involved in the finish with four places widely available.

Laugh A Minute - 1pt e/w @ 9/2

Heavy ground appeared in the description of the past five victories for DOWNFORCE (best priced at 11/1) and the twelve-year-old veteran can run well once again under these conditions. Once rated as high as 111 in the past, this two-time listed winner now drops into a 47-65 handicap for the first time in his career.

Downforce ran well on his reappearance when a close 4th over this course and distance on heavy ground a month ago off a mark of 64 in a 47-70 handicap. He runs here off the same mark in this weaker contest and should run well with up to six places available.

Downforce - 0.5pts e/w @ 11/1
