A tentative vote goes to BLAZING SON, who didn't show much last time out at Thirsk but is better judged on his previous efforts on the all-weather this year. With his only victory on turf coming on heavy ground and given he produced a strong runner-up effort over C&D last August, Bryan Smart's charge is narrowly preferred to Supreme King, who scored comfortably at Kempton on his penultimate outing. King's Crown is capable of being in the mix as well.

Karl Burke won this last year with subsequent Group 3 winner Elite Status, and he could have another smart two-year-old on his hands with ARABIE. Related to a whole host of smart winners, the son of Dandy Man showed up well for a long way on debut at Thirsk, before a more experienced sort got the better of him late on. With normal improvement expected, he can see off the likes of creditable Windsor fourth Off The Bench and newcomer Studious.

LITTLE ROSE has been a work in progress for the William Haggas stable, but she looked to have got the hang of things when scoring with consummate ease at Beverley last week. A 6lb penalty for that success will make life tougher, but she seems more than capable of making up almost three lengths with the reopposing Solar Bentley (second) from their clash at Wolverhampton in March. Another to note is Surrey Force, who could be a different proposition tackling handicaps for the first time.

ISLE OF SARK posted another creditable effort in defeat when a close-up third over 1m2f at Chelmsford last week. The combination of a switch to turf and a return to 1m4f shouldn't inconvenience the six-year-old and a belated second career victory could be in the offing. A first-time hood could settle the keen-going Incremental, who is feared most, while the in-form Fleur De Mer is also likely to be in the mix.

There was plenty of encouragement to be taken from Sherman Tank's debut third at Newcastle in November and David Simcock's gelding must enter calculations on his return to action. However, newcomer CORONADO KING, a half-brother to French Group 1 winner Castle Lady, boasts an attractive pedigree and he could have too much class for these rivals. The Exceed And Excel colt may take this en route to bigger things, while any market support for fellow debutant Transitioning would also be interesting.

A heavy ground winner at Ayr when last seen in October, LAVA STREAM appeals as the one to beat given her ability to handle testing conditions. A mark of 74 does not look beyond the Too Darn Hot filly, although handicap debutant Blake could make a good fist of things now switched to the turf. Royal Tapestry might prove best of the remainder.

Mr Irrelevant cruised to victory at Ripon five days ago and would appear to hold every chance of following up under a 6lb penalty, but a chance is taken on WOODLEIGH. Declan Carroll's charge looked in need of the run when finishing third, behind Mr Irrelevant (second), at the North Yorkshire venue a fortnight ago and he could step forward eased 2lb in the ratings on his second start following wind surgery. Others to note include Ottoman Force and Eighth Army.
