I’m looking forward to seeing Time Test filly BETTY CLOVER out again for Eve Johnson Houghton. She made a perfect start winning on debut at Bath and given the runner-up Englemere has won easily since the form has already been nicely franked. Visually it was impressive the way she picked up and ran through the line and if she improves from that initial experience which is a near certainty then it really wouldn’t surprise me to see her go 2-2. Convo won in good style on debut in France and could be a nice filly too now with Amy Murphy so looks the danger. Of the 3 debutants Royal Equerry looks the most interesting on breeding so watch the market.

Confidence from the Karl Burke yard surrounding FALLEN ANGEL has been infectious and I’m really hoping this filly can deliver. She opened her account in good style in the Sweet Solera and then followed up at the top level in the Moyglare over in Ireland on final start. She looked a filly that would improve with age and strengthen into her big frame. She is coming here fresh but has had a racecourse gallop so shouldn’t lack for fitness. There is a lot of pace on as you’d expect for a Guineas and I think she’ll be the one finishing best. Ylang Ylang is plenty talented and is the danger but O’Brien horses are just shaping as though they need a run. Dance Sequence is also respected.
