Back at this track UNCLE DICK returned to form with an impressive win over a mile here last month. He was well backed on that occasion and ran on well to win by 3 lengths. He failed to back that up dropped back to this trip on penultimate start but he just never looked on a going day. He quickly bounced back last time making up a lot of ground in the closing stages. He clocked a good speed figure on that occasion too so a 2lb rise shouldn’t be enough to stop him as long as he gets a decent pace to target. Dion Baker should go forward and also Hitched might take him on so it could pan out perfectly. Buy The Dip was behind the selection last time but there was only a length and a half in it so he could be the danger.

The way BRANDING won at Navan earlier in the month was impressive and a 13lb rise looks warranted off the back of that. He raced on his own on the stands side early before leading the pack and asserting in really convincing style. That was just his second start in handicaps so there should be plenty more in the locker yet. Kendall Roy has won his last 3 now and landed a gamble at Thirsk last month so even up another 8lb still looks the one to give the selection most to think about. Scorchio won 2 of her last 4 and is another one who could get competitive but the lack of a recent run probably means she is up against it. Ohailbhic looked a bit unlucky at Naas and back down in trip is another one worth noting.
