I saw enough on debut from QUATRAIN to make her of strong interest here. This Mastercraftsman filly finished runner-up over C&D despite running green for much of the race. The winner Mataariki looks like she’ll be quite a nice filly for Joseph O’Brien so I can see the form working out given time. She should be a lot sharper this time around and it looks a good opportunity to go one better and make the breakthrough. Clever And Cute also showed potential on debut for Jim Bolger finishing second over track and trip and if improving looks the danger. Glen Princess can do better too and is also noted.

Profitable filly SMOULDERING ran an eye-catching race to finish second on debut at Wolverhampton. She was on and off the bridle in the early stages but I just put that down to inexperience and even though she had a lot to do she stayed on strongly in the closing stages to chase home the winner. The filly that beat her had lots of experience so it was a good effort to get as close as she did. She should know a lot more now with that under her belt and looks the most likely winner. The danger might emerge from debutant Drumstick who is bred to be pretty useful and with Andrew Balding in good form he should go well first time out.
