Steve Ryder is back with three tips from Tuesday's horse racing action.
13:25 Punchestown
Better can be expected of Mywayofthinkin when he goes up in trip later in the year but he is expected to make a winning debut over obstacles in this race.
16:40 Nottingham
Fresh from training his first classic winner yesterday, David Menuisier saddles XIOMARA (best priced at 6/1) on her handicap debut in this race. The lightly raced three-year-old ran with credit on her two starts in France last season before finishing a never nearer fifth on her reappearance at Lingfield on the AW over a mile under Kyle Strydom.
Shaping like this step up in trip to 1m2f would suit her well, Xiomara now makes her handicap debut off an opening mark of 75. The trainer has won with four of his previous seven runners including a similar filly on her handicap debut Laura Bay at Newbury and hopefully Xiomara can continue the good form
18:10 Huntingdon
Connections of THERAPIST (best priced at EVENS) will have been disappointed with her first three runs over hurdles when a beaten favourite but she was much better on her handicap debut last time at Southwell. The Nicky Henderson trained four-year-old left Andrew Balding rated 80 on the flat so she was really well handicapped off an opening hurdles mark of 90.
Therapist raced keenly under Paul O’Brien last time but still won easily by 3 ¾ lengths and is worthy of a 7lb rise in the weights up to a mark of 97. Nico De Boinville gets back on board in this race and she should hold strong claims of following up.
