Newcomers Breakout Star, Camden Flyer and Manila Thriller all appeal on paper and warrant betting checks.

EZRA CEE showed promise in three starts as a juvenile and he is the highest rated of those with an official mark. Having been gelded and switched yards since he was last seen, the selection starts his campaign with a virtual clean slate and his previous experience should be a telling factor. Ethandun has a tad more experience, though, and is a potential improver now tried with cheekpieces, while Accrual is bred for speed and appeals most from the newcomers.

TEES SPIRIT made a winning reappearance at Newmarket and ran another fine race in a competitive sprint at York last week. He looks worth another chance and can confirm earlier running with Navello. The latter's stablemate Thunder Moor should go well, though he has a bit to prove off his current mark, while Desperate Hero scored at Goodwood recently but would ideally prefer softer going and Jumbeau is upped in class.

The novice winners Tarjeeh and Al Anoud go handicapping for the first time on their return to action and both should be noted for any significant support in the betting. However, TONY MONTANA looked an improved horse when scoring at Chester on his seasonal debut and a 4lb rise may not be enough to prevent another bold bid from Michael Bell's charge. Wisper ran well at Brighton but this is tougher, while Island Star has been gelded since finishing third at Newmarket at the end of last year.

Compton Bay was narrowly beaten on the all-weather at Lingfield last month but THRILLING DREAM is less exposed. Ed Dunlop's charge made a winning handicap debut when upped to 1m2f at Bath and this longer trip is expected to bring further progress. Goodwood third Al Khawaneej River may well get involved dropping down a grade for this, while Yarborough posted a better effort when runner-up at Brighton and is worth a second glance.

Calm Waters races on a faster surface than when successful over track and trip recently, and it could be the turn of GREAT ACCLAIM in this. The latter caught the eye finishing strongly for third in similar company here last time and Georgia Dobie's 3lb allowance helps his cause on this occasion. Treasure Storm will be sharper for a recent reappearance and it would be no surprise to see a better effort from her.
