Steve Ryder is back with three tips from Wednesday's horse racing action.
14:10 Beverley
This weak 0-75 handicap looks a good opportunity for POWDERING (best priced at 15/8) to complete a hat-trick of wins this month. The Michael Herrington stable are in fantastic form with four winners from their previous nine runners and this four-year-old has been impressive back on turf with a 4 ½ length victory over this course and distance and a 2 length victory at Newmarket last time.
Powdering won an apprentice handicap last time off a mark of 65 and a 6lb rise in the weights could underestimate her chances in this race. Joanna Mason takes over on board for the first time and I expect Powdering to prove hard to beat.

16:10 Beverley
The John Berry trained CLOUDY ROSE (best priced at 11/8) repeated her victory in the same race at Brighton last time and now bids to repeat her victory in this race from last year. The six-year-old completed a hat-trick of wins last season at Brighton, Beverley and Brighton in May and June off marks of 45, 48 and 51 and she repeated the first of those victories last time off a mark of 49. The handicapper has raised her 3lbs up to a mark of 52 which should prove within reach and the return to soft ground shouldn’t be any inconvenience to her.
Gina Mangan, who won on her last time, retains the ride and Cloudy Rose should hold strong claims of another repeat victory.
16:50 Hamilton
ARKENSTAAR (best priced at 11/10) has a fantastic record at Hamilton and the Michael Dods trained four-year-old should hold strong claims of recording a fifth course win of his career. The gelding has form figures of 21111 at the track with three victories last season off marks of 61, 66 and 64. He only finished 3rd at Pontefract on his reappearance but relished the return to this course and distance last time winning by ½ length off a mark of 66.
The handicapper has only raised Arkenstaar 1lb for that success which seems lenient and he should prove hard to beat once again over this course and distance.
