I did like Federated initially for this but with that horse coming out it looks a great chance for VAMPIRE SLAYER to finally get off the mark. He ran a career best chasing home Corsican Caper at Catterick last month and that is good form. He is still unexposed over this trip on the Flat and off just a 1lb higher mark this really does look a good opportunity to make the breakthrough. Bella Bluesky won at Southwell and Wolverhampton earlier in the year and backed that up with two runner-up efforts at Wolverhampton and Newcastle so freshened up looks the obvious danger.

I’m sticking with a filly in form in the shape of SO OBSESSED for Marco Botti. She was back to winning ways staying on gamely to prevail at Wolverhampton last month. Then I thought she ran right up to form bumping into another progressive filly in the shape of It’s Showtime over track and trip latest. She is still lightly raced and goes off the same mark so another big run beckons. Oisin Murphy looks an eye-catching jockey booking and she should have a great chance. Restricted was only a neck behind the selection on penultimate start but then disappointed at Nottingham. If bouncing back he could still be the one to give her most to think about.
