Hurdling debutant Woolberry looks the most interesting of the remainder after some fair bumper efforts.

Fazayte has won his last three completed chase starts and has to enter the equation despite a couple of lifeless recent Flat efforts, as does Kankin, who has only gone up 2lb for scrambling to victory at Fakenham. Preference, however, is for VOICE OF CALM, with the Emma Lavelle yard going well, and the eight-year-old came close to fending off some better rivals in a stronger contest at Ludlow three weeks ago.

SECRET TRIX wasn't beaten far into fourth on soft ground at Perth in April and a return to a sounder surface here could help the seven-year-old back into the winner's enclosure. Fitted with a first-time tongue tie now back over the larger obstacles, it would be no surprise if he was up to the task for the in-form James Owen team. Langton Wold is a fascinating contender on his first start over fences and having shown useful form over hurdles, he is entitled to the utmost respect. Nevendon completes the shortlist running off the same mark as when runner-up over timber at Fakenham recently.
