I doubt this will take a great deal of winning so SWATCH does look a standout. He failed to fire on stable debut at Thirsk but the testing ground probably went against him. He quickly left that behind to win back up to a mile at Bath and then ran well in defeat when third at Beverley last month. He just looked outpaced back in trip last time so back up to a mile racing off the same mark he should be the one to beat. The runner-up at Beverley Mister Sox has won since so the form has been franked as well. Hard to pinpoint an exact danger but Fitz Perfectly is likely better than she showed last time so might chase the selection home.

That was a big run from EXPENSIVE ROSE on debut and if she improves from that initial experience she should be hard to beat here. She was slowly into stride at Pontefract and very much learned on the job coming through for second in the closing stages. She will appreciate stepping up a furlong in trip here and is definitely the one to side with. Li Ban has experience on side at least having already had two runs but she wasn’t beaten far at Windsor last time so might not be far away. Apulia looks the most intriguing of the debutants as she is related to plenty of winners so definitely one to watch in the market close to the off.
