Fougere is probably the most solid in this 0-60 handicap but a chance is taken on FICTIONAL (best priced at 9/2) who is now fitted with first time cheekpieces. The Richard Hughes trained four-year-old finished well beaten in his first three starts in maiden/novice races but has showed improvement in handicap company on his previous two starts.
Sent off favourite on both his starts this season, Fictional finished 4th beaten only 1 ½ lengths at Chelmsford on his reappearance before appearing to resent a hood last time over 1m4f when finishing 10th. The handicapper has dropped him 3lbs for that effort which seems lenient based on his previous good run and he is expected to prove hard to beat if taking to the first time cheekpieces.

20:15 Kempton
With a rating of 108 over hurdles in four runs for Nicky Henderson, GOBLET OF FIRE (best priced at 5/2) looks to be well handicapped on his return to the flat off a mark of 59. The four-year-old won three times on the flat in 2023 when trained by Nigel Tinkler at Hamilton, Yarmouth and Beverley and he should have no concerns about returning to the AW.
Goblet Of Fire is race-fit having finished 4th at Bangor in handicap hurdle a month ago and he is expected to run well with Kevin Stott taking over on board.
20:45 Kempton
The James Fanshawe trained WANNABE BRAVE (best priced at 11/10) has won his previous three starts since the re-application of a visor and he should hold strong claims off only a 4lb higher mark. The five-year-old won has won at Wolverhampton, Chelmsford and Lingfield over 2 miles off marks of 56, 60 and 60 and now runs here off a mark of 64.
Wannabe Brave travelled well under Oisin Murphy last time at Lingfield and the jockey should be able to ride him with confidence with the cutaway at Kempton looking sure to suit his running style well. From Stall 2 he should get a good position and it will be disappointing if he cannot complete the four-timer.
