MONFRID won despite looking far from the finished article at Catterick last month and then went down just 2 lengths in a good race at Goodwood last time. That was his handicap debut and off the same mark here with the promise of more to come I think the market is underestimating him. This is competitive but I’ll be surprised if he isn’t better than his current mark and I think this track will suit. Witness Stand ran well back in handicap company finishing runner-up over C&D last month and with a repeat could be the danger. Blue Prince flashed home for third at York and again ran well to fill the same position at Goodwood in front of the selection last time. He is off the same mark and should get competitive again. Brunel Nation was in that race too a nose ahead of the selection so is also respected.
