18:35 Windsor

GYTO Notebook Double for Sunday 23rd June

Windsor 6.35 Roi De France (3/1)

Sea The Stars colt ROI DE FRANCE was a big eye-catcher on debut as a 2yo. He was sent off 14/1 but ran a cracker going down just a length and a half to Accumulate. That horse very nearly followed up at Ascot earlier in the season and the fourth Majed, fifth Alacrity and even eighth My Noble Lord have all won since, some multiple times. We haven’t seen him since but he could be a nice colt and if he has improved then this race is definitely within range on return.

Destructive missed just a head on debut and has run 3 times in Meydan since so despite not getting his head in front could still be the danger as that experience would have done him good. Drumstick is another one going the right way and should get competitive.

20:30 Bath

Bath 8.30 Battle Of Omdurman (5/2)

It has been a learning curve so far for BATTLE OF OMDURMAN but I was quite taken with that run here last time where he failed by just a short head. Another stride and he would have won and given he was slowly into stride and looked a bit outpaced that was a good effort. He will improve again so this looks a good opportunity. He is only 2lb higher and this is just his third start in a handicap so he could easily be one to keep on side.

Baroque Buoy deservedly opened his account at Wolverhampton last time after some good efforts in defeat and does look the obvious danger. Tidal Storm hasn’t been shaping badly and again ran well when third behind Organic so is another one to note.

16:30 Thirsk

Value Tip for Monday 24th June

Thirsk 4.30 Prefer The Sister (4/1)

Despite a somewhat low-key handicap debut PREFER THE SISTER improved to finish a good third at Brighton last time. She was beat less than 2 lengths and did well to get as close as she did given the ground she had to make up. That form has been franked since too with the runner-up Shaw Park winning easily at Brighton next time out. Jonny Peate claims 3lb again and I expect her to be sharper again so it should be a good opportunity. She does drop back a furlong but there is a lot of pace on so I think she’ll be hitting the line hard.

Langholm had been running consistently before finishing midfield last time and if back to his best could run well. Liberty Breeze was only beaten three quarters of a length at Catterick on return though and if building on that as expected looks a greater danger.
