15:15 Salisbury

GYTO Notebook Double for Wednesday 26th June

Salisbury 3.15 Crown Estate (2/1)

This is a good race but CROWN ESTATE must have a great chance of coming away with the prize. He was down the field on handicap debut at Newmarket but quickly left that behind to finish third at Ascot and then improved again to go down just half a length at Haydock. That form has been franked since with the third Christian David winning at Goodwood and up just 3lb with cheekpieces applied he could go one better now.

Leuven Power didn’t run badly on return from a long layoff and if improving from that he could be the danger. Change For Good didn’t look to enjoy conditions behind Devil’s Point last month and should show up better here but will need to improve a fair bit on that.

20:50 Ffos Las

Ffos Las 8.50 Currumbin (7/4)

After going down just a neck on handicap debut CURRUMBIN looks to have found a good opportunity to go one better. He was held up and given a lot to do but came home strongly and was pressing the winner all the way to the line. He is obviously unexposed and despite being 5lb higher here should have a great chance to make the breakthrough. It’s a small field but there could still be a fair bit of pace on which will help the selection.

Devious Devan has a similar profile having ran well when second at Nottingham and if improving again now handicapping could be the danger. Calm Waters let backers down at Windsor last time but is better than that and is another one to note.

Value Tip for Wednesday 26th June

Carlisle 3.05 Born Ruler (5/1)

I know BORN RULER has finished runner-up on all 3 occasions so far this season but for me he hasn’t done much wrong. I thought he caught the eye going down just half a length at Ayr and again backed that up beaten a length or so at Sandown last time. He is back up in trip and just 1lb higher but is still lightly raced so could easily improve again and get himself back in the winners enclosure. I think he is a horse who still has a fair bit of potential to rate higher.

Sea The Thunder went close at Leicester and has to be respected but he is short enough for a horse that is yet to win a race. Gallant Lion is better than he showed when well backed at Sandown last time (Born Ruler in front of him) and might be the danger if bouncing back from that.
