GYTO Notebook Double for Thursday 27th June
Newmarket 2.20 Billboard Star (5/2)
Quite a few unknowns here with a couple of debutants and the rest of the field only having 1 run but BILLBOARD STAR ran an eye-catching debut at Goodwood and looks worth keeping on side. This son of Advertise was only beaten 3 lengths and under a patient ride I thought he showed plenty to chase home the right two horses.
The fourth Mythical Composer and fifth Victory Sound have both won since to frank the form and if he improves as expected he should be hard to beat.
Praetorian also showed clear promise on debut to finish third at Pontefract and with natural improvement will be the main danger. Twilight Ballet also caught the eye on debut and is another one with a bright enough future. I expect this race to work out well in time.
20:00 Leicester
Leicester 8.00 Ten Commitments (7/4)
I was with TEN COMMITMENTS at Nottingham last time and despite being a big drifter he improved as expected and only just failed to win. He was beaten half a length and in hindsight was given too much to do from off the pace. The winner Dark Dreamer made all and he just got going too late in the day. He has gone up 4lb but this step up a furlong in trip could easily see him improve again and I think he can deservedly open his account now. William Carver keeps the ride and claims a handy 3lb off his back again.
Super Hit has shown plenty of promise and already has a win to his name so looks the danger despite lacking a recent run. Bantry was heavily backed on penultimate start but failed to land the gamble and was beat again at Salisbury so needs to bounce back to have a say in this.

Value Tip for Thursday 27th June
Newcastle 4.40 Stoic Syd (6/1)
It hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing for STOIC SYD as he looked really promising after winning at Southwell and then following up at Kempton before disappointing somewhat.
The drop back to 7f clearly went against him when beat back in March and then he didn’t look the strongest of stayers up in trip on return last time. I think a mile is his optimum and with little pace on here he should be ridden prominently and could bounce back. He still has potential as he is lightly raced in handicaps and looks good value in a winnable race.
Flying Panther was finally back in the winners enclosure at Wolverhampton last time and looks one of the dangers under a penalty. He has never backed up a win in the past though so that is in the back of my mind. Struck Gold is still just a 4yo and down the weights finally showed something when second at Yarmouth so could easily be the biggest danger.
