This looks a competitive 0-105 handicap but preference goes to ELDRICKJONES (best priced at 9/1) who has a good record at this course. The Roger Fell & Sean Murray trained five-year-old has form figures of 2612151 at the track including an impressive 3 ½ length victory in May off a mark of 85. He has disappointed on his previous two starts in turf handicaps at York and Ascot but he has a record of 2-23 on turf and 3-8 with a further three seconds on the AW.

Eldrickjones is still competitively handicapped off a mark of 91 and should run well with four places widely available and Cieren Fallon deputising on board.

This looks to be between handicap debutants Candle Of Dubai, Meribella and PRECIOUS JEWEL (best priced at 2/1) with preference going to the latter who has run well on both starts on the Rowley Mile course. The Charlie Appleby trained filly finished 2nd behind the exciting Sea Just In Time on her debut over 1m2f before winning by a length over 1m4f on the same course on her next start.

Precious Jewel was a beaten favourite under a penalty when dropped back in trip to 1m2f at Chelmsford earlier this month but this return to turf and Newmarket, albeit the July course this time, should mean she can make a winning handicap debut off a mark of 84.

The lightly raced SEA LEGEND (best priced at 11/4) won on his stable debut for James Fanshawe last time over this course and distance and should prove hard to beat off a 6lb higher mark. The four-year-old son of Sea The Stars had shown good form in defeat for Fozzy Stack before winning on his reappearance after a 372 day break having been gelded since leaving that stable.

Sea Legend won comfortably by 2 ¼ lengths over this course and distance last time and a 6lb rise from the handicapper seems a touch lenient. Daniel Muscutt retains the ride and hopefully he can remain unbeaten for the stable.
