Steve Ryder is back with three tips from Monday's horse racing action.
14:25 Worcester
Jac Jumper and CALVIC (best priced at 4/1) look evenly matched based on their latest course and distance run but preference goes to the latter who has a more consistent profile overall. The Stuart Edmunds trained eight-year-old has shown improved form since joining this stable from Lawney Hill with form figures of 31621. His only disappointing effort came over a trip too far but dropped back to 2m4f over this course and distance last time, he showed a good attitude to win by a short head.
Connections fitted Calvic with first time cheekpieces for his victory last time which are retained and hopefully he can confirm form with Jac Jumper even though that rival has a 2lb swing in the weights.

This looks a weak 0-95 novices’ handicap hurdle and it looks a good opportunity for MAYS HILL (best priced at 9/4) to win for the first time over hurdles. The Fergal O’Brien trained six-year-old has had the form of her latest course and distance 2nd boosted and despite being beaten 11 lengths, she brings the best recent form into the race.
Mays Hill finished 2nd behind Giuletta who followed up by six lengths on her next start under a 7lb penalty and is now rated 17lbs higher and in front Asa who won by 3 ½ lengths on her next start off the same mark. Mays Hill runs here off the same mark and should prove hard to beat with Jack Hogan claiming a handy 3lbs.
19:30 Wolverhampton
This looks to be between last time out winners Magic Gem and DUE DATE (best priced at 10/3) with preference going to the latter who is drawn much better than his rival in Stall 4. The Charlie Wallis trained four-year-old has shown improved form over this course and distance this year with form figures of 311 and victories coming off marks of 51 and 54.
The handicapper has only raised Due Date 2lbs for his most recent success and he should hold strong claims with Marco Ghiani retaining the ride.
