14:45 Hamilton

This looks a competitive 0-75 handicap but preference goes to ROSE BRANCH (best priced at 7/2) who is the only course winner in the field. The three-year-old had run with credit on her four starts for George Boughey before winning on her stable debut for Hugo Palmer on her return from a 180-day break.

Rose Branch won over this course and distance that day by ¾ length and despite a 6lb rise for that looking harsh, the leading pair pulled three lengths clear of the third. Paul Mulrennan, who is 1/1 on the horse, retains the ride and she should prove hard to beat if in the same form.

There is definitely a big race in LONDONER (best priced at 13/2) and a chance is taken that Jim Goldie has targeted this 0-100 handicap with him. The four-year-old joined the stable rated 96 having finished 2nd on his final start for Aidan O’Brien and has so far been campaigned over a variety of trips including 1m3f, 5f and 7f for new connections.

Londoner caught the eye in both of his previous two starts when hampered over 7f shaping like this step back up in trip to 1m½f should suit (was a winner over a mile previously). Sent off prices of 33/1, 40/1, 66/1 and 33/1, he has dropped 9lbs in the ratings since joining this stable and he can hopefully run well with up to four places available.

17:00 Brighton

This looks to be between last time out winners Havana Mojito, Wedgewood Sapphire and COGSWORTH (best priced at 11/8) who can hopefully complete a hat-trick of wins. The Chris Dwyer trained three-year-old won at Chelmsford on his penultimate start off a mark of 54 before following up over this course and distance last time by 2 ¼ lengths to record his first victory on turf from four attempts.

The handicapper has raised Cogsworth 6lbs for that comfortable victory which is fair and he should be able to follow up that success under regular rider Silvestre De Sousa.
