GYTO Notebook Double for Saturday 6th July
This is quite a good race but SHAZANI really impressed winning well at Hamilton last month and with further improvement to come on nursery debut he should be capable of following up. He looked much more at home back up to this trip last time making all and under aggressive tactics again I think he’l be hard to catch. He has a good cruising speed and hits the line hard so hard to pick holes in him off what looks a lenient opening mark.
Sex On Fire made a winning start at Southwell and then ran quite well at Ascot but struggled in the Windsor Castle last time. This is obviously much easier and he still has potential but I still think he needs more to be the danger. Hofburg was only denied a neck at Chepstow and might put up greater resistance.
16:30 Naas
Hard to look past Wootton Bassett colt SWAGMAN here. He ran well to finish third on debut at the Curragh last month and with that initial experience under his belt I expect him to take a sizeable step forward now. The runner-up Mount Parnassus has run well to finish third in a good race at the Curragh since so the form already has a bit of substance. He looks a real galloper so I expect him to be sent forward and with a bit of luck he’ll be hard to pass in the closing stages.
Mano Chicago also ran well on debut to finish third at Gowran Park last month. He kept on well but was never going the pace of the leaders. It was won by The Parthenon who is a stablemate to the selection so the yard should know if they have him covered so I do expect the market to prove informative.
16:12 Sandown
Value Tip for Saturday 6th July
Sandown 4.12 Midnight Rumble (13/2)
That was a really convincing win from MIDNIGHT RUMBLE at Lingfield last month. He had been improving with experience and caught the eye beaten less than a length at Salisbury on penultimate start clocking a decent speed figure in defeat. He stayed on strongly to win from a well strung out field at Lingfield latest and despite going up 6lb is unexposed in handicaps and over this trip so could easily improve enough to go in again.
Ribchester filly Ashariba has won 2 of her last 3 and will likely be sent off favourite. She does look the danger but I don’t think you’d want to take too shorter price about her as a 4lb rise for that half a length win at Leicester demands more from her. I don’t think she beat much that day either so even more reason to try and oppose. Devoirs Choice is knocking on the door and is another one to note.
