GYTO Notebook Double for Tuesday 9th July

Lingfield 3.25 Ten Commitments (7/2)

I know TEN COMMITMENTS probably isn’t the easiest of rides but he was produced in good style to win at Leicester last month and I think the step up to 7f really suited him on that occasion. He is open to further improvement especially over this trip and looks well placed to follow up.

Saffie Osborne takes back over in the saddle and that is a positive for me as well. There is plenty of pace on with the likes of Royal Tapestry, Different Breed and Alike Breeze so this could pan out perfectly.

Never Dream won on handicap debut at Goodwood and was a good second at Salisbury but that form has been let down since. All Agleam may pose a greater threat as she bumped into a good horse in the shape of Divine Breath at Chelmsford and has solid form to her name.

Pontefract 3.40 Room Service (9/2)

Back in handicap company I can see ROOM SERVICE coming good again here. He has been highly tried since winning impressively at Doncaster and should find this a lot easier.

Given time since finishing a creditable sixth at Newbury he is still armed with potential especially over 6f and may well get back on the up under Tom Eaves. He will be ridden patiently possibly even in last place before looking to pick them up in the closing stages.

Coachello carries top-weight but has the assistance of Buick and could bounce back from that Royal Ascot run with a big effort here. Flaccianello was back to form with a good second at York and is another one to note.

Brighton 7.25 They (6/1)

After just three starts in handicap company there could be a fair bit more to come from THEY and she looks decent value here.

She was a good third behind Blenheim Star at Ripon and then improved again to finish fourth at Wolverhampton having been slowly into stride. Dropped a pound if she has a slicker start then I expect her to have a big say in the outcome here. George Boughey has done well with types like this in the past and I’m expecting a big run.

Clear Justice won comfortably at this track last month but over a mile and a quarter and I’m not sure he is crying out for a drop back in trip. Top Button is another one to be fearful of as he was beaten less than a length at Lingfield last time and if building on that should run well.
