16:40 Ayr

This looks a competitive 0-75 handicap but preference goes to AL MUQDAD (best priced at 11/4) who should appreciate this drop back in trip to 7f. The David O’Meara trained four-year-old is a three-time winner over this distance including at this course a month ago off a mark of 71. The gelding followed up at Doncaster over the same trip off a mark of 74 before finishing 4th over a mile at the same track last time.

Looking the most likely winner 1f out, Al Muqdad weakened in the final furlong to finish 4th beaten three lengths but he should now prove hard to beat dropped to 7f off the same mark.

16:50 Worcester

Chatty Chich is respected in her hat-trick bid but preference instead goes to MACTAVISH (best priced at 11/2) who won by five lengths over this course and distance last time. The Matt Sheppard trained seven-year-old won twice last season over intermediate trips before finishing 2nd on his reappearance at Ludlow this season off a mark of 95.

Mactavish found 3m1½f too far on his next start at Hereford but bounced back to win over 2m4f here last time off a mark of 95 when making all by five lengths. A 6lb rise for that success is fair and he should run well with up to five places available.

Mactavish - 0.5pts e/w

20:00 Ripon

The Paul Midgley trained LEODIS DREAM (best priced at 11/1) ran well to finish 2nd over this course and distance on his penultimate start and he looks sure to run well once again off the same mark. The eight-year-old has only run at Ripon twice in his career, the first being a victory off a mark of 75 in 2022 and the second in May when 2nd beaten only ¾ length.

Leonis Dream is well drawn in Stall 13 to adopt his usual front running tactics and his latest run at Hamilton can easily be excuses. Back down to a mark of 71 he should run well with four places widely available.
