18:40 Kempton

GYTO Notebook Double for Wednesday 10th July

Kempton 6.40 Salamanca Lad (2/1)

After running well at Ripon it was good to see SALAMANCA LAD back to winning ways at Leicester last month. He was sent straight into the lead by David Egan and never looked back making all the running in good style. He is only 3lb higher here and the booking of Buick suggests they are confident that he can follow up and strike again while the iron is hot. There isn’t a huge amount of pace on so there is potential for a soft lead and I’m keen to keep him on side.

Overture is the dark horse in opposition as she is making her handicap debut here but she hasn’t shown a great deal and will need to improve a fair bit to land a significant blow. Twilight Vision has a similar profile but again has enough to prove off the back of that Lingfield run.

19:50 Ffos Las

Ffos Las 7.50 Worrals (9/4)

That wasn’t a bad run at all from WORRALS at Lingfield last time and given the winner Midnight Rumble has backed that up finishing second at Sandown since the form has substance. She should appreciate dropping back down to a mile and I’ll be surprised if she doesn’t have a win in her off a mark of just 74. When she won at Goodwood back in May she was ridden forward and that could be the case here in this small field.

Calm Waters has won 2 of her last 3 and looks the danger but a 5lb rise for that recent C&D win definitely demands more of her here. King’s Scholar knocked on the door at Salisbury and didn’t run badly when fifth at Leicester last time so is another one who could run well now sent handicapping.

16:40 Yarmouth

Value Tip for Wednesday 10th July

Yarmouth 4.40 Morrophore (9/2)

There are some well bred fillies lining up for this so a lot of potential and perhaps MORROPHORE could be the most exciting of them. This filly by Kingman made an eye-catching start finishing third on debut at Newmarket and it really wouldn’t be a surprise to see her improve enough to win this. She was slowly away and then looked short of room when asked to pick up. When she did see daylight she ran green and looked a bit clueless before running on strongly. She should know a lot more this time around and is one to keep on side.

Kinako Mochi was an excellent second on debut and then bumped into Queen Of Zafeen at Lingfield and that looks pretty solid form. Given time since she is obviously open to improvement and could be the one to threaten the selection. Etmaari is an interesting debutant so watch the market on that one as she could end up being popular which might be quite significant.
