GYTO Notebook Double for Friday 12th July

York 2.40 Unequal Love (9/4)

Plenty of these arriving in winning form so it looks a good race on paper but I’m keen to keep UNEQUAL LOVE on side.

This Dutch Art filly was progressive as a three-year-old winning four times and she has picked up where she left off this season winning two of her last three now. She impressed with how strongly she ran on to win the Wokingham at Royal Ascot last month and with potential to do better again I think she can follow up against these.

Raqiya made a winning reappearance at Salisbury showing a smart turn of foot and might be the biggest danger to the selection if improving again. Adaay In Devon is likeable and shouldn’t be ignored either as she doesn’t know how to run a bad race.

Ascot 3.25 Magnum Opus (9/4)

The two last time out winners in the field look worth focusing on with MAGNUM OPUS a confident selection. He failed to make an impact on handicap debut at Sandown but that looked a good race and the trip probably stretched him on that occasion.

He was quickly back on the upgrade winning impressively at Pontefract last time. That visual impression was backed up by the clock too and with further improvement to come I think he can follow up.

T’challa prevailed by a neck at Windsor last month and is open to further improvement now handicapping so could be the danger. Global Asset has been running well and was only denied a length at Nottingham last time so is another one to note.

Value Tip for Friday 12th July

Newmarket 4.45 Metabolt (4/1)

Things have really clicked for METABOLT this season and he looks better than ever right now. He left his reappearance run behind to win gamely at Leicester and then followed up stretching back out to a mile at Windsor last month.

He has only won by a head and a neck the last twice so as a result still looks well handicapped off a mark of 90 and should be able to complete the hat-trick. Rossa Ryan is riding on the crest of a wave at the moment too so there is lots to like.

Ezra Cee got off the mark at Windsor when last seen and has more to come now sent handicapping so could emerge as the danger. Zouzanna ran well when third at Newbury last month and is another one I expect to get competitive. Waiting All Night has also been holding his form well so is also respected.
