15:32 Ascot

GYTO Notebook Double for Saturday 13th July

Ascot 3.32 Coco Royale (9/4)

The progressive COCO ROYALE should have a great chance to complete the hat-trick here. This Frankel filly ended last season winning at Yarmouth and then returned with an impressive win at Sandown last month. She came clear going best and ran on strongly all the way through the line. She has gone up 8lb but is completely unexposed over this trip so if stepping forward again could easily stay ahead of the handicapper.

Tactician impressed opening his account at Goodwood last month and now handicapping could improve again and emerge as the main danger. Iron Lion won under a good ride at Haydock and despite not backing that up at Ayr could bounce back and get competitive in this.

16:35 Newmarket

Newmarket 4.35 Inisherin (11/4)

I was with INISHERIN in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot and he certainly didn’t disappoint running on strongly to back up up that Sandy Lane Stakes win at Haydock. The switch back to sprinting has been the making of him and he impressed me with how strongly he travelled last time. We know he stays a mile so he is always going to be strong at the finish so the fact he is able to race on the speed now is another huge positive. He is still open to further improvement and is hard to get away from.

Vandeek was 4-4 as a 2yo but has work to do to beat the selection as he was 4 lengths behind him on reappearance at Haydock. He doesn’t have a huge amount of scope so I think the others have caught up with him now. River Tiber drops back in trip and might be the one to give him most to think about.

16:50 York

Value Tip for Saturday 13th July

York 4.50 Letsbefrank (11/2)

Things have really clicked for LETSBEFRANK since handicapping and stretching out in trip and he impressed again with how he hit the line at Thirsk last month. That visual impression has been backed up by the clock on both occasions and even up another 5lb I think he can stay ahead of the handicapper. He tackles 2 miles for the first time here and the way he has shaped the last twice he could easily take another big step forward for it. Jim Goldie is in great form too so there is lots to like.

Bringbackmemories has run well the last twice and was beaten less than 3 lengths into third at Newcastle last time so should get competitive. Tailorman was only denied a head at Chester and that form has already been boosted so he might be the one to put up most resistance
