GYTO Notebook Double for Sunday 14th July
Stratford 2.30 Coconut Twist (3/1)
The switch to chasing saw COCONUT TWIST take a big step forward winning impressively at Newton Abbot on reappearance. The third Belgarum has won since and the fourth Hold Your Fort has won twice and looks a nice horse so the form really stacks up. He is 8lb higher here but is unexposed in this discipline and if improving again as expected really should be following up as this looks another winnable race too.
Gentle Connections ran well when second at Bangor on return and with that under her belt should emerge as the danger. Unwanted Attention is a decent yardstick who is also in form so should get competitive as well.

The likeable TONTO FOLEY has done well since switched to fences with form figures of 31123. I think he was better than the bare result at Newton Abbot last time as he was given a lot to do and can jump better than he did. This seems an easier assignment and if back to his best should take a lot of beating as he likely still has more to offer in this sphere. Nick Scholfield takes over in the saddle and I think he’ll be ridden a bit closer to the pace this time.
Tessy Lad was a good second at Market Rasen last week beaten just a couple of lengths and if building on that again should put up some resistance. Garde Des Champs needs to bounce back but that second at this track to Galunggung earlier in the season would give him a squeak.

Value Tip for Sunday 14th July
Perth 3.15 The Churchill Lad (5/1)
I know he can race freely and sometimes pull his chance away but THE CHURCHILL LAD is coming back down the weights now and dropped another 2lb since that run last month he could spark back into life. The usual hood has been removed and dropped in grade I think he might be able to surprise a few. He is at his best when he settles on the lead so hopefully he goes forward and gets into a good rhythm and proves hard to catch.
Galata Bridge was only beaten 3 lengths at Worcester last month and if building on that could threaten. Malangen won in good style at Hexham and then bumped into Earth Cry here last time so is another one who has a chance.
