GYTO Notebook Double for Friday 19th July

Haydock 3.50 Sea Legend (9/4)

The way SEA LEGEND stayed on to win at Newcastle on debut for this yard was really promising and despite suffering defeat last month he is of major interest here.

He should love the step up in trip and with more to come off the same mark must have a great chance of getting himself back in the winners enclosure.

He is still completely unexposed after just two starts in handicap company and it is no surprise to see him favourite as the bookies are unlikely to try and take him on.

Quantum Leap ran a cracker beaten less than a length at Hamilton on reappearance and did win this race last season so looks the danger. Story Horse is another one in form after winning easily at Lingfield and then going down just a head at Nottingham last month.

Newbury 4.45 Divine Presence (5/2)

After showing promise at Bath DIVINE PRESENCE improved again sent handicapping for the first time stepping up in trip at Wolverhampton last month. She looked briefly outpaced before running on strongly to get up in the final stride.

She needed every yard of that trip so no surprise to see her up in distance again as that should bring about further improvement. Even up 5lb I suspect she is still well handicapped and I think she can follow up with cheekpieces applied.

Mrs Twig has won three of her last four and likely isn’t done improving yet so should give the selection most to think about. Our Golden One is still lightly raced and wasn’t disgraced in France last time in a race that is working out fairly well.

Value Tip for Friday 19th July

Newmarket 8.10 Siempre Arturo (9/2)

I thought there was lots to like about that win at Leicester from SIEMPRE ARTURO and then he improved again to follow up at Yarmouth.

He may have only prevailed by a head but he showed a good attitude to hold the challengers at bay and the fourth in that race Due To Henry has won impressively since so the form has already been franked. He is only 3lb higher here and with further progress to come looks good value to land the hat-trick.

Born Ruler was entitled to win at Ayr but did impress in the manner of that victory and is probably the danger but the 7lb claimer has me a bit concerned as I think the horse takes a bit of knowing and isn’t an easy ride as such. Rocket Warrior has been in good nick and is another one in with a squeak.
