UK Horse Racing Tips: Killarney

He's more than useful on the Flat having reached a peak mark of 108, and, if he takes to hurdling, there could be a bright future for him in this sphere. My Great Mate is an obvious danger as he was second on hurdling debut at Punchestown when caught on the run-in. He has two bumper victories in his locker. El Barakah makes his track debut for Henry de Bromhead having finished runner-up in a point-to-point last year, while Miners Bridge has shown enough form to figure for Sam Curling and Phillip Enright.

REDWOOD QUEEN receives a fair bit of weight from Instant Tendance and can resume winning ways. She ran up a hat-trick between May and June before finishing third in a valuable handicap hurdle at Bellewstown. She tries this trip again and has prospects of getting it in this small field at this track. Instant Tendance is holding her form very well and won by a street on her penultimate start in Kilbeggan. Folly Beach put in a sparkling effort on hurdling bow in a Tipperary maiden hurdle when just held by a neck in second. She lacks experience, but that was a noteworthy performance. Lady Rita likes this track, while Presenting Doyen won this race last year and reverts back to hurdles from fences.

LA HACIENDA was electric over a similar trip in Sligo and the form was franked when the third home came out and hacked up in Kilbeggan. She is up in class, but has shown a fondness for this track before when plundering a valuable handicap on the Flat. There are any number of dangers, though. Optional Mix switches back to hurdles after landing a handicap chase at Kilbeggan in June. She was sixth in a much higher grade over hurdles at this venue in May. Henning ought to appreciate this company, while Teagarden Jazz, Bella Bliss and Major Barry are others to enter the equation.

MOYVILLA LASS could get her turn. Eoin McCarthy's mare was placed over staying trips at Kilbeggan and Tipperary, and is on a workable mark particularly with Gary Noonan's 5lb claim factored in. McCarthy and Noonan teamed up with a winner at Downpatrick on Monday. Papa Barns travelled well for a long way before running second at Punchestown and should do some damage off a mark of 81. Cloudy Fountain took the honours in Thurles and wasn't beaten far into second at Wexford, so is one of the leading contenders. A Mere Bagatelle is capable of having a say, but finds it hard to win over flights while Tuff Days is a reserve to note.

THE NAMES JOCK's fifth place in a 0-140 handicap hurdle at Listowel last month reads well in the context of this race. Since then, he has finished runner-up in a couple of races on the Flat at Fairyhouse and Leopardstown. Morricone has been enjoying himself in Punchestown and has clocked up two victories there this year. His fifth in the Full Circle Series Final Handicap Hurdle at that track in April wasn't a bad effort and he's had a break since then. Red Glory has posted runner-up finishes in Tipperary and Downpatrick, while recent winners It'sallabouteve (over fences in Tipperary), Contrapposto and Baltinglass Hill add plenty of spice to the mix.

There is an interesting mix of speed and stamina in newcomer HEY BOY's pedigree. His sire won at Group 2 level on the Flat while his dam is related to a Grade 1 chase winner. He represents Willie and Patrick Mullins, and will be well prepared for this assignment. Time In A Bottle gets a tongue-strap and a hood after running fifth on her racecourse bow at Listowel. She is likely to show improvement. Not Now Darling is related to several multiple winners and her stable are more than adept at having one ready to go on debut in a bumper. Gather Yourself and Ardera Gun are both in the hunt for prize money.

SPORTING GLANCE carried a good reputation into his point-to-point at Borris House in April as he went off odds-on favourite, and he put in an impressive display to win by six lengths. He has switched to Cian Collins for his track debut and Aine O'Connor has been booked. El Fabienne disappointed in fifth on testing ground in a Fairyhouse bumper before Christmas, but should appreciate this better surface. Jody Townend and Willies Mullins are a formidable partnership when they team up in ladies' bumpers. Beltown Lake hasn't been seen since winning a point-to-point in February last year, but winners have come out of that race. Canuduitnow has a bit of breeding behind her and is worth a market check.
