This looks a competitive 0-70 handicap but preference goes to ATLANTIC GAMBLE (best priced at 6/4) who bids for a five-timer. The William Knight trained three-year-old finished down the field on his handicap debut at Windsor before winning at Kempton, Yarmouth, Wolverhampton and Kempton off marks of 56, 60, 66 and 72.

Atlantic Gamble won easily by 3 ½ lengths last time off a mark of 72 and the handicapper has raised him 8lbs for that victory. He runs under a 6lb penalty in this race meaning he is 2lbs “well in” at the weights and he should prove hard to beat if transferring his recent AW form to turf.

With Lady Luzon an unlikely runner following her success yesterday, a chance is taken on TOOTA (best priced at 9/1) who finished a close 3rd in a nursery at Pontefract 10 days ago. The Tim Easterby trained filly ran with credit on her first three starts but showed improvement in a first time hood to finish 3rd beaten only a neck last time off a mark of 56.

Toota finished close behind Griselda and Bank On Kent who were joint favourites to win a nursery at the abandoned meeting at Nottingham on Tuesday and she now runs here from 2lbs “well in” at the weights. She faces a couple of exciting novice/maiden winners in Military Girl and Educating Rita but she looks sure to be involved in the finish.

This looks to be between recent winners This Years Love, Makalu and COLOANE (best priced at 11/2) with preference going to the latter who boasts winning course and distance form. The Roger Fell & Sean Murray trained four-year-old had been disappointing on his three starts this season but benefitted from a drop to a career low mark of 47 to win by 2 ½ lengths over this course and distance last time.

The handicapper has raised Coloane 6lbs for that victory which is fair and he looks sure to run well with four places on offer in this race.
