The well-bred Adoon Valley arrives on the back of a debut second over 6f here and must enter calculations, although she is likely to be well found in the market and SHINING PEARL may offer some value against her. Karl Burke's filly ran with credit when fifth over 6f at Thirsk and, with the promise of more to come for a yard that excels with these types, she gets the vote. Stellenbosch also shaped with promise when third on her introduction at Newbury and must enter calculations too.
Prediction : 1st Shining Pearl 2nd Adoon Valley 3rd Stellenbosch

A wide-open affair in which a case can be made for many, but SWORD gets a tentative vote. He performed with enough credit in a warm Doncaster event to suggest that he can have a big say in a race like this. After shaping like the application of headgear will suit when down the field over C&D subsequently, he appeals most in first-time cheekpieces. Just behind the selection on Town Moor, English Harbour should be thereabouts with a repeat of that effort, while Kempton winner Markoon completes the shortlist on his comeback.
Prediction : 1st Sword 2nd English Harbour 3rd Markoon

ARABIAN LIGHT found only one rival too good on debut over C&D and, with improvement likely, the son of Kingman gets the vote to score at the second time of asking for the red-hot Charlie Appleby team. Tareefa kept on well to score over 7f here last month and another bold showing over this extra yardage would come as no surprise. King's Coronation, turned over at short odds at Wolverhampton, can earn himself a spot on the podium on his first start since undergoing wind surgery and switching stables.
Prediction : 1st Arabian Light 2nd Tareefa 3rd Kings Coronation

Charlie Appleby saddled the winner of this contest 12 months ago and appears to have another cracking chance with ENCHANTED LIFE this time around. The Kodiac filly hasn't put a foot wrong in two novice races, seemingly improving from Kempton last year when returning at Pontefract in May, and she now starts handicap life off a fair-looking mark of 88. The hat-trick seeking Rosy Affair edged out Ananda over C&D three weeks ago and they should be closely matched again. The dropped-in-class Queen Of Mougins also merits consideration.
Prediction : 1st Enchanted Life 2nd Rosy Affair 3rd Ananda

Handicap debutant Capo Vaticano has an attractive profile and is sure to have plenty of supporters, but a chance is taken on ABATE. The speed he has been showing lately suggests that a drop back to 5f won't pose any problems, and this is easier than his latest assignment. Cover Point and Antiphon also arrive on the back of pleasing efforts, the former at a higher level, and they make up the shortlist.
Prediction : 1st Abate 2nd Capo Vaticano 3rd Cover Point

BORN RULER produced a career-best performance when bolting up at Ayr. The Kingman gelding will find this tougher under a penalty, but he is 3lb well-in compared to his revised mark and Fred Daly takes off a valuable 7lb so it would come as no surprise were he to repeat the dose. Devoirs Choice (second) and Crimson Road (third) met at Sandown last month. The latter is 3lb better off and could close the gap but Siempre Arturo, who seeks a hat-trick following wins at Leicester and Yarmouth, might be the main threat.
Prediction : 1st Born Ruler 2nd Siempre Arturo 3rd Crimson Road

A return to 7f proved no issue for AMERICAN STAR, who was able to record a comfortable success at Chester last week. Ruth Carr's gelding is 2lb well-in under the penalty and remains nicely treated judged on past exploits. Should the five-year-old find further progress, he can take this en route to better things. Once Adaay has been running with credit in recent starts and is more than capable of making his presence felt, while King Of War heads the remainder.
Prediction : 1st American Star 2nd Once Adaay 3rd King Of War
