The seven-year-old has been highly tried on the level since then and it would be no surprise to see him make a winning return to this sphere. Black Poppy is capable of going well based on his Swinton Hurdle triumph in May 2023. Maxcel and Manuelito also make the shortlist.

KING'S CASTLE has been raised 13lb over the course of his winning thread and he can sustain that excellent run. Jeremy Scott's charge will have to defy a further 3lb hike for a comfortable success at Newton Abbot, but that may not halt his progression. The consistent Captain Attridge has had to settle for second twice since a Hereford victory and another bold bid can be expected, while Belle Of Annandale isn't discounted.
