17:25 Ayr

GYTO Notebook Double for Monday 22nd July

Ayr 5.25 Helter Skelter (2/1)

I know HELTER SKELTER is yet to win a race but he couldn’t have got any closer beaten just a nose at Hamilton last time. With another yard he would have won the race and I think it is a run worth marking up. He clocked a good speed figure in defeat and could be ready to get off the mark now. He is only 1lb higher and should have more to come over a mile. The yard could be in better form but other than that has plenty going for him.

Alpine Sierra ran well over C&D last month but has been beaten twice since. He should appreciate coming back down to a mile and does look the danger. Hey Lyla won on return and then disappointed a bit last time but also has a chance in this.

19:50 Windsor

Windsor 7.50 Seek And Destroy (3/1)

It was a good weekend for Ralph Beckett bagging another Classic with the Irish Oaks and he will be hoping to get the week up and running with another winner in the shape of SEEK AND DESTROY. This Sea The Stars filly was denied just a nose on return at Chepstow and then improved when well backed to open her account over C&D last time. She is sent handicapping now and will probably need to improve again to defy her mark but is completely unexposed and looks a filly to keep firmly on side for now.

Lope De Vega filly Naaey impressed winning at Wolverhampton but struggled up to Listed level at Pontefract. She goes handicapping now and looks the danger but does need to bounce back. Sea Regal ran too bad to be true at Doncaster and again if putting that behind her could have a squeak in this as it's early days.

20:30 Beverley

Value Tip for Monday 22nd July

Beverley 8.30 Seahorse Syd (5/1)

That was a good run from SEAHORSE SYD to finish fourth here last time and if the step up to a mile and a quarter here brings about further improvement he may well be able to cash in off this mark. He won off a 2lb higher mark at Newcastle last season so from a handicapping perspective definitely has strong claims. He is still just a 3yo and I think he has some bigger performances in him so his price at the time of writing could turn out to be decent value.

Dandy’s Angel is a useful mare at this level but she is on a lengthy losing run. She has been running well enough to think she has a chance in this though. Chicago Gal ran well when second at Leicester and that form has been boosted by the winner and the third since so she might pose a greater threat.
