G A Henty justified favouritism in comfortable fashion at Market Rasen last month and, having got his head in front, he has to be of interest back in the handicap ranks. However, the seven-year-old could come out second best to ROYAL PRETENDER, who was beaten into third in this grade at Uttoxeter last time, but he was dropped 3lb for that display and looks to have been given a chance by the handicapper. Blue Stello completes the shortlist.

SIDE STEPPER has hit the frame at this level on each of his last two outings and he goes off 2lb higher than his most recent third at Perth. Christian Williams' five-year-old remains fairly unexposed and, with Harry Cobden booked, could be the one to beat. Propelled could only manage fifth over 2m6f here in May, but this step up in trip could unlock improvement, while Fine By Me can fight it out for the minor honours.

DANCINGONTHEEDGE bolted up by 17 lengths over an extended 2m5f at Newton Abbot earlier in the month and was hit with a 10lb rise for that success. Paul Nicholls' charge should have no issues with this extra distance and she could prove to still be on a lenient mark. Catuaba showed much improved form in first-time blinkers when second at Worcester last time and he should remain competitive off a 1lb higher rating, while Glorious Mist is another to watch out for.

In This World won for the first time over fences at the fourth attempt when scoring at Worcester, but he has been put up 6lb for that victory and will need to take another step forward to double up. MATTERHORN has already surpassed his efforts over hurdles with a three out of three record over the larger obstacles, including a 12 length C&D success last time out, and he looks the sort to get better with experience, leaving Only Money as a tentative suggestion to follow them home.

With five winning favourites in the last six renewals, the market may prove a reliable guide and BRAVE KNIGHT is likely to top it, with his chances there for all to see. Twice a winner on the Flat for Sir Mark Prescott, he easily made a successful debut over hurdles at Worcester and looks all set to add to that here. Paddys Island is a C&D winner and although he may struggle to give weight to recent second Polling Day, they still look set to fill the places between them.

Moon Lady is one for the shortlist after going under by less than a length at Bangor, but she now goes handicapping and a mark of 99 isn't exactly lenient. Getmetothemoon is another to consider after she failed to get a clear run before finishing third at Newton Abbot. She may be the biggest danger to BARRONS LAND, who failed to see it out over further at Market Rasen, but might try to make all in first-time cheekpieces over this more suitable trip.

Ittack Blue was too bad to be true when fourth on his handicap debut at Market Rasen and a 37-day mini-break could see the six-year-old in a better light now tackling the larger obstacles. However, fellow fencing debutant SOIR DE GALA makes slightly more appeal after a solid third at Worcester. Paul Nicholls' charge has the stamp of a chaser and improvement is highly likely. Last-time-out winners Isholo Du Vivien and Clean Getaway complete the shortlist.

RONNIES RULES was quite taking when scoring on his Rules debut over C&D earlier this month. The Dan Skelton-trained gelding won with enough in hand that day to suggest he can shoulder a 7lb penalty and he's sure to prove a warm order to follow up. O'Malley offered something to work with on her fifth-placed effort at Newton Abbot and she may serve the most resistance to the selection, ahead of Lady Henrietta.
