Lingfield 14:00
GYTO Notebook Double for Tuesday 23rd July
Blue Point filly FELICITY should take a lot of beating here. She has only gone down narrowly the last twice and now sent handicapping I expect her to improve again. She was a big eye-catcher when third at Brighton last month finishing strongly and nearest finish. With a bigger field here and more pace on I think this will pan out more favourably and she is definitely the most likely winner so no surprise to see her head the betting.
Five Winds impressed winning at Yarmouth last month and while she failed to back that up over C&D last time she is still a player and looks the danger. Milliethemollie bumped into Merrimack at Brighton and that form has already been franked so she is also noted.
Wolverhampton 19:40
Wolverhampton 7.40 My Kind Of Girl (9/4)
This might not take a huge amount of winning so MY KIND OF GIRL looks the one to be on for Tony Carroll. She caught the eye going down less than a length to Voodoo Ray at Bath back in May and then despite fluffing her lines next time she was right back to form missing just a head when last seen. She clocked a decent speed figure in defeat that day and the winner has gone in again since so the form has substance. She is just 1lb higher and her chance looks obvious.
Perfect Focus is a maiden after 16 runs and is second fav so that tells you about the lack of quality on show. He didn’t run badly when last seen at Chelmsford though so could still be the one to give the selection most to think about. Rebel Redemption is also respected.
16:50 Musselburgh
Value Tip for Tuesday 23rd July
Musselburgh 4.50 Trojan Sun (4/1)
I’m siding with the most unexposed horse in the field in the shape of TROJAN SUN for Jim Goldie. This 4yo showed next to nothing on his first 3 starts sent off at odds of 150/1, 100/1 and 150/1 but took a big step forward to go down just 3 lengths into second over track and trip when last seen. He was given a lot to do on that occasion and I expect him to come on plenty for it. The fourth Lord Torranaga has finished runner-up at Catterick since so the form has substance. This is an easier race too and he should take a lot of beating with further improvement to come now.
Myboymax was beaten just half a length at Hamilton last month and if building on that could be the danger as that was quite an encouraging effort having been out of form. Achnamara is hardly consistent but did win at Catterick last time so will be a danger but is by no means a certainty to back that up.
