ILIKETHEWAYURTHINKIN (NAP) (best price 6-4) has staged a real revival in his last two starts and with the most recent coming courtesy of a smooth success over today’s C&D, there seems no logical reason why the 10-year-old will fall short in his bid to repeat the dose three weeks on.

Given a confident rider by Richie McLernon, Ben Haslam’s inmate was perfectly delivered to lead on the long run after the last and with minimal persuasion, he readily pulled clear of the in-form pair, Do No Wrong and Elleon.

Posting a smart speed figure at the Cumbrian venue, it was noticeable his final circuit time was also quicker than the two other handicap chases on the same card over shorter distances and based on that information, even a mandatory hike in the ratings shouldn’t be enough to stop him in his tracks.

Not a lot to separate NO HASSLE (best price 9-2) and See Me Through based on the data produced over tonight’s course a month ago but it makes sense to side with the former due to the fact she is the proven stayer of the pair.

Third in the fillies’ handicap won by Royal Eagle at the Mayo venue, Shane Ryder’s mare spent the final half a mile trying to peg back the front running No Niki No until the fast-finishing Royal Eagle came and picked their pockets close home but despite the agonising defeat, she still came out of the race with a fast speed figure next to her name.

A comfortable winner on her previous visit to the sharp, right-handed circuit, the seven-year-old mare clearly enjoys the vagaries of the track and in a race where it is easy to pick holes in many of the main players, she has one of the more convincing profiles.
